Before I even took my first steps on Mother Earth, Milo had already been involved with boats, and born and raised in California, that probably just came with the territory.

Being from the Netherlands originally, I had lived in Tokyo, Japan for over half my life already before I met Milo. At the time when I met him, he was a computer consultant --- Oops, let me correct myself here ---- He was a Mac Computer consultant and what I came to understand of that distinction is that neither he nor his customer would ever need to get into the messy nitty-gritty of the next level of technical misunderstanding. Basically, Milo would de-educate the customer from his misplaced addiction and dependence on Windows, then re-educate him to become an Apple user and lose him as a customer to become his friend and trusted consultant. In the meanwhile, this new friend would introduce all of his friends to Milo and the process would start all over again.

Being more stubborn than his customers, I am still using Windows, skipped the becoming an Apple fan part and simply became his friend. But I am getting ahead of the story.

When I met Milo, I was in need of a homepage. He offered to make one for me. As I was an expert on my semi-professional hobby 'The Game of Go', I (naturally) had some pretty rigid ideas of what I think I wanted and Milo sank his teeth into the part 'what I think I wanted'.

To make a long story of many night-long discussions short, the home page consisting of over 400 newspaper articles I had written earlier (and a pretty good podcast, made up of interviews with non-Japanese Go players), finally got there. However, because of some problem with the credit card payment that I had paid but then for some reason got sent back by the hosting company one day before the expiration date, somehow the registration expired. After taking the homepage with all of the backups off the internet, the hosting company (Vodahost) then tried to blackmail me into reinstating the homepage for an extra 200 dollars.  I refused to do business with this type of untrustworthy company and consequently lost the site. I am not going to tell you that I learned some valuable lessons and that there was a silver lining. The only lesson there was was that life goes on. And if you forget that and keep reliving your lost battles, life goes on without you or by bypassing you.

Neither is a good thing, so here we are at a new chapter in our lives.

The bottom line is that during all this homepage consulting and building, I got to know Milo better. He talked passionately about his work, his philosophies, and his hobbies. One of his big hobbies was 'boating'. At the time, all boats were equal as far as I was concerned and, in grand Milo style, he de-educated me from that sinful idea, then set out to re-educate me about the virtues of Catamarans.

This site is the culmination of this re-education process.

It is my sincere hope that through this site, you will get a basic but thorough understanding of Catamarans and become as passionate about them as Milo, and as inquisitive as I.

Thank you for putting up with this long story,

Rob
